Corporate footprint expands into US market servicing 13 East Coast States
Toronto, Canada – March 8, 2017 – Citron Hygiene is pleased to announce that, effective March 6, 2017, it has acquired Workplace Essentials, a washroom and workplace hygiene company, headquartered in the Boston suburb of Billerica, Massachusetts. This is Citron Hygiene’s second acquisition since its ownership change last April when it was acquired by Birch Hill Equity Partners in partnership with President and CEO, Peter Farrell. Last September, Citron Hygiene acquired Sani-Service Inc., a Canadian national service provider of washroom hygiene and commercial warewashing systems from Serruya Private Equity Inc.
“We are delighted to welcome Workplace Essentials to the Citron Hygiene family,” Peter Farrell stated, “as the largest washroom service provider in the U.S., this acquisition is a powerful first step in our overall North American and global build. Their reputation as an innovative and high quality service provider in the U.S. market is second to none, and as such, we are so pleased to have them join our business. For the time being, Workplace Essentials will continue to operate under its existing trade name and its leadership team will continue to manage the US business”.
Linda Pace, President & CEO of Workplace Essentials, further elaborated, “Under the Citron Hygiene umbrella, Workplace Essentials will significantly expand its product and service offerings to our customers and we look forward to gaining access to Citron Hygiene’s impressive stable of top tier vendor-partners. Peter and I have also known each other for many years and we both share the same passion for the business and respect for employees and customers. Choosing the right company to sell to was of paramount importance to me – Citron Hygiene was our perfect fit.”
“Our acquisition of Workplace Essentials is perfectly aligned with our strategy and a key milestone in our overall growth plan. We will continue to be acquisitive in Canada, the US and strategic global markets,” according to Peter Farrell. “We are excited to expand into key geographies as well as add great employee partners and customers to our business. This is a very exciting time for our company,” he added.
